    Deck – The top surface of your board

    Fin – Underwater tail fin that helps you steer

    Leash – Velcro strap that connects you to your board

    PFD – Personal flotation device (life jacket)

    Stroke – One full paddle motion

    Sweep turn – A big arcing paddle to turn the board
